Story Game

I played a Story game with my friend Ashley. A sentence will be given to you and you will have 15 minutes to write a story about the sentence. A full story. It was challenging at first but it expands your boundaries and broadens your view and perspective. I enjoyed the game very much and below is my story.

the sentence was;
"Enemy, my familiar friend"

My entry:

It's the same. All the time it has been the same, I'm Adrian and I'm the sad little transfer student everyone talks about. I have been thrown around from relative to relative to try and have a home ever since my parents died. I have never been able to fit in, all because of my sight. I see things, ancient spirits of the netherworld haunt my every waking moment.

One spirit in particular. It's name is Enemy.

He has always been there in my life. And It has reached a point that I can't keep on denying his existence. He follows me, talks to me and acknowledges me. I hate him. It's because of him that everyone calls me a liar, his fault that I have no companions of any kind. His fault that I live my life like a half dead corpse.

One day, I finally lost it.
"Why do you follow me?" I screamed at him in the middle of the street. "Why do you torture me so?"
He gazed at me with his red eyes.
"Because you are lonely, just like me. We are like souls, you and I"

I sighed...I guess what he said was true. I did not have any friends and I was lonely, but he was there through it all. A silent confidant.

My only friend.
